This past year, HHF was extremely busy due to hundreds of thousands of people fleeing gang violence and more than 60 healthcare locations closing across Haiti, which has caused thousands to arrive at our doors sick, hungry, and traumatized without even basic healthcare, including women 8-9 months pregnant. This surge of patients has been placing a serious strain on our staff, medicine, and supplies.
Despite the challenges, we continue to provide:
Healthcare: HHF provides compassionate, professional healthcare in six clinics, including maternal and child health, diagnosis/management of infectious and chronic diseases, nutritional surveillance/rehabilitation, immunizations, laboratory services, sonograms, X-Ray, pharmacy, dental care, and mental health care, as so many people have experienced great levels of trauma.
“Nou pa gen mo pou’n ta mete ki pi fò pase mèsi piske nou pa gen mo nou di’ ou mèsi.”
“We don’t have any words stronger than thank you, we can’t thank you enough.”
– Testimonial from Patient in Terre Rouge, Haiti
Last year, we provided 17,133 prenatal consultations and 19,695 pediatric consultations, performed 76,417 lab tests, 5,719 X-Rays, 6,880 ultrasounds, and 1,996 cervical cancer screenings. 95.46% of our children under one years old have completed their vaccines. We conducted almost 20,000 home visits to people unable to travel, including postpartum women. We provided emergency transportation for women having trouble during labor.
Our community health workers regularly conduct health prevention lessons on dental health, cervical cancer, mental health, nutrition, hygiene, etc. Last year, HHF conducted 1,126 sessions with over 43,000 participants.

Nutrition: HHF fights malnutrition with rigorous monitoring and distribution of food to the most vulnerable, including children, pregnant women, people with chronic illness or reduced mobility, the elderly, the blind, etc.
Last year, we distributed nearly 20,000 food kits, in addition to our regular feeding program, resulting in a malnutrition rate of only 3.3%, with 0 children admitted to our Center for malnourished children.
Education: remains a big challenge in Haiti. During this school year, our donors are supporting tuition, books, and uniforms for 5,256 elementary and high school students.
Please help us continue to help the poor, the vulnerable, the suffering – one person at a time.
