Our Give-a-Goat Program purchases and distributes goats to rural families who are chosen by local committees on the basis of low economic status, participation in health education, and their commitment to the economic revitalization of their communities. It is well known that these hardy animals are adaptive to any terrain. Recipients of a goat breed them to develop a herd, using the offspring to help pay for food, rent, medicine, or education for their children. Some male offspring are used for essential animal protein. The average income of families is less than $300 per year, so it is extremely difficult for them to obtain a goat without the assistance of this program.
For only $150, you will provide a Haitian family with an opportunity to rise out of poverty and improve their health as well as becoming more independent and self-sufficient.
